Bishop Strickland, I hope everyone you addressed in this Letter, will adhere to what you have stated so clearly. I pray for those who don't understand; that their eyes will be open to the Truth!
Thank you. In the sixth day of the Divine Mercy Novena, we pray: Today bring to Me THE MEEK AND HUMBLE SOULS AND THE SOULS OF LITTLE CHILDREN and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. Only the humble soul is capable of receiving My grace. I favor humble souls with My confidence. The injustice done to these innocent souls cry to heaven. As we are to be one body in Christ, we all suffer when one of the least of us is harmed. What I fail to understand that these 'learned' men do not see the harm, horror, damage and insult to God. Life is from God. What is more precious than an innocent life? God forgive and grant mercy to all of us from this unspeakable horror.
As for most of the bishops, pray for their souls. God willing most will resign or repent and come back to the faith, otherwise better no bishop than a bad bishop. St John Eudes was correct. Our chastisement is here; we have bad priests and bishops. To make matters worse these failed men are oppressing the faithful priests and bishops. As a result, innocents are dying, and people are many people are being depraved of the real one true faith.
We all most pray and thank God for Bishop Strickland who in humility has accepted his great cross, carries it well and proclaims the truth on the one eternal Truth.
āālearned' men do not see the harm, horror, damage and insult to God.ā
They need to see this clip and realize the act of God in every soul at conception. Snuffing it out deprives society of His precious gifts infused into that soul for manās common good.
Bishop, life-related issues are being ignored. The proven data that the "shot" has shown increases in miscarriage, stillbirths, and sterility. That this epidemic of "trans" is rampant in our youth, this attack on the family is an old battle that our Bishop in Raleigh remains silent. Instead, the TLM is the problem. Go figure! Old battle, reliable solution, pick up your Rosary, Fasting, and the Sacraments. Be sure to listen to Bishop Strickland
Thank you for your unequivocal stance for life, Bishop Strickland. If only all of your brother bishops were the same. This should not be forbidden from homilies every Sunday. Fr. Frank Pavone has been stripped of his faculties as a priest because he boldly defends life. The pro-life cause cannot just be a grassroots movement of laity. Governments are overtly being satanic with the "laws" they pass. Authority needs to be exercised against "authorities".
I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR ANY CANDIDATE WHO ADVOCATES PROCURED ABORTION OR SERVES THE ABORTION INDUSTRY IN ANY WAY OR RECEIVES ANY COMPENSATION FROM ANY ABORTION FACILITY.
NOR WILL I VOTE FOR ANYONE WHO ESPOUSES A PLATFORM WHICH ADVANCES PROCURED ABORTION
SO HELP ME GOD! /S michael john donnelly I ASK ALL CHRISTIANS TO CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMAN WITH YOUR NOTICE AS I AM DOING
It is a spiritual war, always has been, which means individuals choose. Unfortunately, the rulers use our taxes to pay for it, making us a participant in it. Defund it. The Catholic Church at the highest levels funded NGOās supporting paid protestors for āNo Kingsā (globalist Leftists). I didnāt leave the Catholic Church, it left me years ago.
Little by little, Planned Parenthood has been defunded in different states through legislation and good pro-life campaigning. Good. Now, the new legislation passed today says it will completely defund this horrid corporation. Yes, corporation. It has blinded-sided the world with its "charitable" status.
However, the same action must be taken against pharmaceuticals companies producing the contraceptive pills and now the abortion pill. Also, action must be taken against all shipping companies that deliver these pills through online orders.
how can any doctor professionally and consciously kill any living human with a beating heart?
l am struck by your words VULNERABLE (pregnant) WOMEN. yes, they are indeed, by any possible means. Society should support, protect, foster pregnancy for its own survival , putting (maybe) the concept of motherhood in the backdrop. Adoption should be deeply reformed, too.
So true, abortion is a rebellation against God and natural law. As a Catholic I consider that in a Catholic school, both should be taught ; the Gospel of Life (John Paul II) honoring Jesusā divinity & humanity and the Constitution of the USA so respect and honor to the cultural heritage of our nation based on natural law are learned by young people.
Wikimedia Commons may have a variety of incredible photographic images of embryos and fetuses that some might find amazingly beautiful. Iām assuming there are also other resources as well.
āEt Verbum Caro Factum Estā and the Word was made Flesh . . .ā
Somewhat recently a pro-life group had billboards showing a beautiful picture of a fetus developing in the womb.
How I would love to buy a sweatshirt or t-shirt with this absolutely powerful quote from Scripture along with a proclamation of the Truth regarding early development of the human being through an actual (scientific) photo that cuts through all the false rhetoric and deceptions.
When does human life begin? Scripture tells us that Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit, so letās respect life starting with conception.
A picture, that is scientific documentation, of āreproductive rightsā at three months, six months, some want abortion ārightsāright up to the birth canal? āNiceāpeople might consider the idea of actually looking at an abortion as an outrage to ānicenessā, but nice never made it into the Beatitudes.
Part of the pro-life message needs to focus on vocabulary versus fact.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Perhaps if the perfect picture of fetal development could be found and worn it might even save a life! Iād love to wear that shirt and Gospel quote together!
This topic may lead to a theological quagmire as it raises the question of body versus soul or spirit. On one hand, someone might argue that a flesh body, especially a fetus, is a thing, a transitory physical aspect of creation. One might argue that, as such, it is one among many things that should be "controlled" by conscious souls acting as stewards of material creation. Thus, the emphasis is on the beauty, the majesty, of Creation, but not as "the image of God," as that cannot be flesh but only the Soul as spirit. This view might lead to a bridge with the secular world that now sees all existence as "thingness" and thus all material as dispensable property. It seems we have not found the correct dialogue and concepts to bring society as a whole into line with the sacredness of creation and that we can expect only growing conflict. The harsh conditions of the Fallen World may lead the culture to argue for expedient means, whereas a view of a Kingdom world of grace and prosperity and love may lead to a different conclusion. The point... maybe the conversation is not as easy as we might hope.
Bishop Strickland is right to point to this NRLC report as āinvaluableā. Without truthful facts a problem cannot be solved.
However, facts without useful dialogue gets us nowhere to establishing a Culture of Life. Mindsets, attitudes and understanding need enlightenment. This comes from the Holy Spirit. We must pray unceasingly for His inspiration. We must, in humility, be ready to listen to what others are saying in order to bridge misunderstandings with truthful facts and theology.
More priests like Fr. Jonathan are needed in the church under Pope Leo. You can find such priests worldwide in either of the four groups of Schoenstatt Priests:
An excellent and inspiring article. The faith of Fr. Meyer is stunning. To be admired. My orientation, perhaps unusual, is of a slightly different flavor, but, ironically, tied to the disastrous Enlightenment mentioned in the article. Kingdom Wisdom is senior to and superior to all secular thought. But, as a result of weak theology, we have bowed before the gods of scientism in important areas, such as the true essence and nature of manāand the nature of man's relationship with God. This weakness inevitably comes to the fore whenever we address issues of flesh bodies and immortal souls (and abortion, et al). It is here we need to speak louder and with authority. It is here that we have to reassert control over the conversation. We can begin by excommunicating those, like genocidal Francis Collins, a self-proclaimed Catholic and former head of NIH who mangled faith and science in his books, and went on to commit mass murder with his lies and deception regarding COVID, a bioweapon. We can send a message that as Catholics "we don't do genocide" and we insist on the scientific community ceasing to push a false materialistic "science" that stubbornly ignores the spiritual nature of man. Ratzinger, in the final chapter of Introduction to Christianity, provides us with a powerful discussion regarding the errors of "resurrection of the body" and leads us to a sound basis on which to undercut the nonsense of the Enlightenment and resume our role as Kingdom Authority on the nature of Reality. Tall order, I know, but I believe we must meet the challenge.
I have a good feeling about meeting the challenge with Pope Leo's leadership. More Catholics, indeed, all Christians need to embrace the Holy Spirit's call to learn the Truth and to share it.
Wish I was as optimistic as you are re Pope Leo. Though oddly enough I grew up in the same community. (He was in Dolton where I went to H.S. and I lived in South Holland, which was adjacent.) I was more the age of his brothers, older. Not sure he represents as much change as we need.
May your words be a light to the world and put an end to abortion.
Sobering, Sad and so Sinful to only imagine the ongoing Passion of Christ. Thank you for being our so watchful Shepherd Bishop Strickland šš

may God salve us all from our sins
When will people realize it is a life from the time conceived!! Murder is a sin for anyone Catholic or NonCatholic!!!
At the moment of conception, God infuses a soul with gifts for his entire life. In this clip you will see God is truly Light.

Only an outpouring of The Holy Spirit can put an end this slaughter of the innocents.
Praying.
May need to edit. Left out the word 'end'.
Thank you

Iām not suggesting pictures of aborted fetuses for t-shirts, Iām suggesting reaching out with the beauty of the Truth about the preborn.

Exactly. The world lacks a kingdom based wisdom as a common or shared platform. We have much work to do.
