Thank you, Bishop Strickland. Your podcast was wonderful. I so appreciate you taking the time to be a shepherd to all of us. I will look forward to hearing from you every Monday.
Ahhhh, Bishop Strickland, what a holy pleasure to hear your voice, as you cry out from the wilderness that is our Church in these confusing times. Thank you! Psalm 99:2 ~ “Serve ye the Lord with gladness.” = you! May God continue to bless this, your new apostolate❣️
The beautiful thing about our beloved Catholic Church is that God has, in every time and season, given us sound shepherds to guide the flock. You are one of those shepherds. I know you do not take this lightly, and I, like so many others, are grateful for you. Thank you, Bishop Strickland! You are a modern day Athanasius. I will pray for you and for all shepherds. God bless you!
Your Excellency thank you for your encouraging words and fidelity to God and His laws. All you stated is true. What these scandals have done to me is to make me steadfast in the faith. The scandals have confirmed the Catholic is the one true faith. The fallen ones would not attack that or those they already have. Second, only God could sustain, heal and grow a faith like this that has been capsized by corrupt men. May God heal their souls and may they come back to the faith.
You remain proof God loves us and doesn’t leave us orphans. “Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake.”
Thank you Bishop Strickland. I am grateful for your courage, the sanity and clarity you bring. I appreciate your presence on Substack and posting your transcripts. I will continue to pray for you and work to disseminate your teaching to others.
Thank you and God Bless Bishop Strickland, it is so reassuring to hear the voice of a true and faithful Shepherd. Can't wait to hear each and every week
Thank you, Bishop Strickland. Your voice is that of a TRUE Shepherd, unlike so many cacophonous noise with which we are bombarded regularly from less faithful shepherds in the Church. God bless you!!
Excellency, All of this is valuable teaching for many of us. Gratitude for your clarity, conciseness, and veritas. In particular I value your reference to Sts Ambrose and Augustine two of the greatest Fathers of the Church. Pax Christi vobiscum,
Many thanks Bishop Stickland, and here are a couple of my favorites on trying to understand The Trinity:
Pope Leo XIII on the Essential Attributes and Appropriation of the Holy Trinity: Their essential attributes; and this manifestation of the Persons by Their essential attributes is called appropriation" (St. Th. la., q. 39, xxxix., a. 7). In this manner the Father, who is "the principle of the whole God-head" (St. Aug. De Trin. 1 iv.c. 20) is also the efficient cause of all things, of the Incarnation of the Word, and the sanctification of souls; "of Him are all things": of Him, referring to the Father. But the Son, the Word, the Image of God is also the exemplar cause, whence all creatures borrow their form and beauty, their order and harmony. He is for us the Way, the Truth, and the Life; the Reconciles of man with God. "By Him are all things": by Him, referring to the Son. The Holy Ghost is the ultimate cause of all things, since, as the will and all other things finally rest in their end, so He, who is the Divine Goodness and the Mutual Love of the Father and Son, completes and perfects, by His strong yet gentle power, the secret work of man's eternal salvation. "In Him are all things": in Him, referring to the Holy Ghost.
From "Laudato Si'" by Pope Francis:
The world was created by the three Persons acting as a single divine principle, but each one of them performed this common work in accordance with his own personal property. Consequently, “when we contemplate with wonder the universe in all its grandeur and beauty, we must praise the whole Trinity”.
