Prophetic words from a timely commentary on a truly brave believer turned warrior. She was St Therese’ heroine whom she emulated by dressing in armor for a picture that still impresses to this day. May we heed these holy words in a time of great reduction, open attacks on Tradition along with a pervasive nominalism fueled by the secular democratization of the Church in the false spirit of Synodality.
In 1431, Jeanne d'Arc, while answering to accusations said:
" I will entrust our Lord whom I will always do the commandment. In case the Church would order me to do the opposite, I would not report to a worldly man, but only to our Lord whom I will do always the commandment ".

Thank you, Bishop Strickland for celebrating Jeanne d'Arc, the Saint of our time !
You are so blessed by the Holy Spirit to offer such a beautiful essay on this beloved saint. Your faithful followers are on the edge of our seats waiting for your next divine inspiration to appear before us.
WE KEEP KILLING GODS INNOCENT UNBORN. CHRISTIAN CATHOLICS NEED TO END THE MURDER OF GODS GIFTS OF CHILDREN TO ALL OF US BUT OUR LEADERS SEEM UNABLE TO LEAD THE CALL HE MAKES THAT WE STOP THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT AND IGNORE ABORTION
Michael, I'm unable to make a lot of sense of your comment, because it lacks coherence. Who are "...OUR LEADERS..."? Are you referring to politicians? I can't tell. If you are, you have to take account of the fact that most Americans are pro choice, and that we aren't going to become a theocracy.
If Christians had been truly wise after Roe vs Wade was handed down, they wouldn't have given a penny to politicians in the stupid hope that a critical weight of them in the federal legislatures would work in some way or another to stop abortion. They would instead have given every penny to crisis pregnancy centers and other charitable outreaches to women who were tempted to get an abortion. Christians did eventually get what they claimed to have wanted all along, the reversal of Roe. The awful truth is that since it was reversed, we've actually had an increase in the number of abortions.
Think how many millions of lives we could have saved if the money had gone to crisis pregnancy centers and their networks.
I urge you to read the latest installment of the Lydwine Substack.
Not only abortion. Christ didn’t say that we should spare the unborn only. Christ said “THOU SHALT NOT KILL”. He didn’t mention any exceptions! THAT is quite a challenge and deserves serious thought and discussion among all of us.
No, I don’t believe that she was a warmongering killer. I do believe that since institutionalized “Christians” started teaching that war and killing is justified, then most Christians have actually forgotten that Jesus lived and taught a thoroughly non violent way of living. Jesus never, ever justified killing. This is clearly stated in the Gospels. Jesus did not intervene in His own death and refused to allow his apostles to do so. By participating in war we become pawns of the state, we do not glorify God. Killing cannot glorify God. I think that Joan was a persuadable young girl who got caught up in this. She was taught that violence could be excused. Not a sin for her, but certainly a sin for the Church that taught her this. Did Joan truly hear voices and see visions prompting her to engage in a war? If my daughter were killed or raped by an evil man, would I be considered justified if I hunted him down and blew his brains because I thought I had received a message from God to do so? Jesus didn’t think so. I don’t believe that my thinking that Joan was mislead that I am in any way breaking the rules of the Catholic Church. If I am mistaken, and Jesus did justify killing then please highlight those Gospel passages.
Our source of scriptural communication are words and deeds from the entire library of both Old and New Testament.
Very brief: Mosaic Law says "do no murder" in the oldest manuscripts in their original language. Deeds, the Chosen went to war several times well documented, recall David and Goliath.
New Testament: Some soldiers followers of Jesus went to Him and asked for His instruction. "Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay."
Tradition in accord with scripture describes the reality of a just war
Jesus was the most wise and intelligent man to walk the earth and yet He did not do so at the perfect time for Him to condemn war outright to soldiers or to the Jewish leaders.
The rules changed when Jesus came. Jesus never condoned violence. Jesus established “Christianity” which was the NEW news! Seriously, Jesus talking to soldiers is a very weak defense. You may want to drop it here but if you’re interested in the topic I suggest you read ALL THINGS FLEE THEE FOR THOUGH FLEEST ME by Rev. Emmanuel Charles McCarthy. You may not agree with him but I’m sure that you want to at least be informed of other views.
Saint Joan was a young Charismatic Catholic woman armed and dressed as a warrior leading armed men into lethal battle strikes all sorts of chords of cognitive dissonance in these days of woke.
Proof that Catholic women have no need of feminism, they have had the freedom of the Spirit for two thousand years.
Inspiring. Thank you Bishop. France is the eldest daughter of the Church for good reason since Clovis was baptised in the 5th century. France has a special place in the hearts of Our Lord and Blessed Mother. France will lead revival of the Church and the restoration of Christian culture in the west and around the world. The holy remnant preserving society as in the first Church - with fierce persecution as a given. St. Joan of Arc, pray for us. St. Michael Archangel, defend us in battle.
Thankfully Joan was neither a feminist nor a progressive but simply a good magnanimous soul who simply transcended the special self-serving interests of her day no different that some within these ranks are intending to co-op to align with their special interests.
And Ste. Jeanne d'Arc teaches through her testimony that the greatest weapon in battle is neither a lance nor a sword but rather a banner raised high with Our Lord reigning in Glory with His Blessed Mother.
What I wonder is why God willed the ingrate Charles VII to be crowned only for him to abandon St. Joan of Arc to the English? And then God allowed the monarchy to be abolished anyway during the French Revolution. God allowed the Vendeans to be massacred. Nowadays we see France host that abomination during the olympics. Well, I am just a human being and His ways are way higher than mine. I hope I can accept God's will for my life as steadfastly as St. Joan of Arc did. La Pucelle, pray for us!
The Roman Catholic Church in League with the Devil: A Maronite Perspective on False Religions
As a Maronite Catholic, rooted in the covenant of Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, I’ve witnessed a troubling trajectory in the Roman Catholic Church, particularly since the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II), which I believe was a grave mistake. The Church’s actions, from Vatican II to recent developments under Pope Leo XIV, suggest a disturbing alignment with the devil’s greatest lie: that he doesn’t exist. This deception blinds many, leading them to accept false religions like Islam, and I fear the Church’s complicity in this spiritual betrayal risks leading souls astray from the exclusive truth of Christ, as He declared in John 14:6—“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
My journey as a Maronite has been shaped by a heritage that traces back to the early Christian communities of the Levant, a lineage that has long resisted the dilution of Christ’s truth. Yet, Vatican II’s ecumenical approach, particularly in Nostra Aetate, recognized Buddhism and Islam, which I see as a profound error. Buddhism, with its focus on liberation through human effort, denies the salvific necessity of Christ, while Islam claims Abraham through Ishmael, a lie I view as an apostasy from the true covenant established through Isaac, as affirmed in Genesis 17:19–21—“I will establish my covenant with Isaac.” Islam’s attempt to hijack Abraham’s legacy, rooted in this deception, lacks true heritage, as the Father chose Isaac, not Ishmael, to carry forward His promise. A religion cannot start based on a lie, and by recognizing Islam, the Church risks validating a faith that contradicts the Gospel, aligning with the devil’s scheme to obscure his existence and influence.
The fruits of Vatican II’s ecumenism have only worsened over time, as seen in Pope Leo XIV’s recent actions. His decision to commission vestments for his inaugural Mass on May 18, 2025, from Filippo Sorcinelli, a homosexual activist who markets homoerotic perfumes with names like “Cyber-Sex” and “Cruising-Area”, using sacrilegious imagery, signals an openness to LGBT inclusion that contradicts the Church’s teaching on marriage as a “stable union between a man and a woman” (Leo XIV, May 2025). Furthermore, Leo XIV’s failure to correct prominent Catholics like Biden and Pelosi on their support for abortion and homosexuality—issues rooted in the sanctity of life and God’s design—further bears the fruit of compromise. The Church’s actions, from Vatican II’s recognition of false religions to these modern betrayals, suggest a communion with the devil’s deception, as warned in Ephesians 6:11—“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
The Roman Catholic Church’s broader failures reflect this lukewarm faith, which I reject. The liturgy wars in the Diocese of Charlotte, where Bishop Michael Martin restricted the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) and proposed draconian rules on worship, show a lack of reverence, while the transfer of the Ascension feast to Sunday in many dioceses prioritizes convenience over the theological symmetry of Christ’s 40-day post-resurrection journey. In Germany, the Münster diocese criticized Bishop Robert Barron for defending Church teaching, labeling his stance “anti-queer”, and a cathedral hosted a performance with semi-clad dancers waving diapered chickens, further evidencing a loss of sanctity. These bad fruits, as Matthew 7:16–20 instructs—“You will recognize them by their fruits… A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit”—reveal a tree corrupted by the devil’s influence, failing to uphold Christ’s exclusive truth.
As a Maronite, I’ve been blessed that my Church has not experienced the same liturgical division as the Roman Church, maintaining our Syriac traditions without the TLM vs. Novus Ordo schism. Yet, as part of the broader Catholic communion, we are not untouched by Vatican II’s legacy, which I see as a betrayal of the Gospel. The Church’s alignment with the devil’s lie—that he doesn’t exist—through its ecumenical compromises and failure to stand firm against false religions and modern immorality, risks leading souls astray. But I hold fast to the hope of Revelation 22:1–21, where the river of the water of life and tree of life will heal the nations, and God’s servants will see His face and reign forever. My prayer to the God of Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, each blessed in their own right, anchors me in the covenant fulfilled by Christ, who declares, “I am coming soon!” Until then, I remain vigilant, judging the tree by its fruit, and trusting in the grace of the Lord Jesus to sustain me.

we true Christians live under the New Covenant, a shoot sprung from the stump of Jesse and not a sect of Judaism.
