FAT CHANCE!

Strickland’s removal from office by the pope follows a Sept. 9 meeting between Pope Francis and Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, O.S.A., head of the Dicastery for Bishops, and Cardinal Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States to discuss the apostolic visitation’s results.

Thank you Bishop. I find myself in cautious mode having felt the joy for Francis only to be let down. This is a Francis guy for sure. But will the office shape him and the Truth guide him? That is my prayer.

While watching the new Pope being introduced, I did not have a good feeling and was not feeling the joy, but I will pray for him and all in the hierarchy of the Church. I read your last substack on May 5th and it did help me to get my mind straight. Thank you and bless you, Bishop Strickland!

I did feel joy, especially when he first came out and he was fighting back tears. The weight of 1.4 billion Catholics and the whole world.

Pope Leo XIV invoked the ‘name’ of Mary!! Strongly, he brought her into his blessing. We said the “Hail Mary” together. It was beautiful. And, he spoke of Pompeii. This was a big sign for me.

Is today actually the feast day of Our Lady of Pompeii? I didn't catch that, nor hear that clearly.

Yes. Today is the feast day of Our Lady of Pompeii.

The Covenant of Love, where Schoenstatt members offer themselves to Mary, is a key element that connects Schoenstatt to the Marian spirit and devotion seen in Pompeii, where devotion to Our Lady played a significant role in the rebuilding and development of the new Christian city.

Also, today is the anniversary of the Apparition of St. Michael at Mount Gargano, Italy.

Love that Leo XIII composed the St. Michael Prayer. Pope Leo XIV messaging us? Cardinal Strickland 🙏🏻 love that thought❤️ Thank you for fostering our hope.✝️

Perhaps we should test his likeness to Leo XIII by asking him to reinstate the St. Michael Prayer to its former place at the end of Mass. Surely no one could argue that we need LESS protection from Satan than our ancestors did in the 19th century, when evil could not propagate itself worldwide in seconds!
