Thank you, Bishop Joseph, for this heartfelt and compassionate prayer, to bring loving comfort to those affected by this devastating flood. May Texans respond generously to their needs.
Our hearts are united with yours in sorrow and in prayer as we receive the devastating news from Texas Hill Country. Across the miles, from the quiet chapels of Malta to the windswept moors of Leeds, we pray for the souls lost, the children missing, the families grieving, and the heroic souls giving their all in rescue and care.
Your words echo the deep ache that resonates in every heart that belongs to Christ: βJesus wept.β And so do we. In this season of pain, we are reminded again that the Church is not a building or institution alone; it is a heart beating in every place where suffering cries out for mercy.
As a small community of lay faithful striving to live the message of the Sacred Heart, we assure you of our solidarity. We offered todayβs Rosary and Mass for Texas yesterday, lifting up the children of Camp Mystic in our petitions. May Our Lady of Sorrows, enfold your grieving communities.
Please know, Bishop, that we carry Texas in our hearts and on our lips each time we speak with the Lord Jesus. We also join your call for the Church to be present, not only in prayer but in tangible compassion, bringing Christβs healing touch wherever floodwaters and anguish remain.
May the Immaculate Heart of Mary console you. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus shelter Texas. And may God bring good even from these tears. We also invoke the help of two modern saints who remind us that suffering never has the final word:
π A Prayer for Healing and Hope
Sacred Heart of Jesus, pierced for love of us, bring healing to every wounded heart in Texas. Embrace the families who grieve, the children who are still missing, and those who wait in vigil and fear.
Our Lady of Sorrows, intercede for all who mourn. Wrap them in your maternal tenderness as you once stood beside the Cross.
Saint Padre Pio, lover of souls and bearer of the wounds of Christ, strengthen the first responders and rescuers. Strengthen them in body and spirit. Let your wordsββPray, hope, and donβt worryββresound in the hearts of all who are exhausted by grief.
Blessed Carlo Acutis, child of the Eucharist, pray for the young ones lost in this flood. May they find light and joy in the eternal presence of Jesus, and may their families find hope in the promise of reunion.
Come, Holy Spirit, bring peace where there is chaos, light where there is despair, and faith that endures the storm.
We place Texas under the protection of the Sacred Heart, and we offer our small prayers and sacrifices for your people.
Amen.
In Christβs tender mercy, The MaltaLeeds Heart to Heart Team
You have been in my prayers since I heard of the tragic extreme flooding this morning. I especially prayed for your sufferings and loss this evening while meditating on the Seven Sorrowful Dolors (Sufferings) of the Blessed Virgin Mary and how her Immaculate Heart was pierced by seven swords.
Also sending special prayers to Saint Michael the Archangel for all those involved in rescue missions!
Thank you for your words of truth and condolences to all those who face the unthinkable loss they have encountered. We must pray for them and for us to always pray for all and not just our own needs. May they Rest in Peace.
Praying fervently for friends in the area and those poor little souls at Camp Mystic. Very sad. ππ»ππ»ππ»

I feel guilty as I had prayed that these storms would wash away the cartels, instead children were washed away.
