Regarding modesty, my FSSP parish includes this in their bulletin:
Out of respect for Our Lord Jesus Christ Who lives in the Tabernacle day and night, and to assist your fellow worshippers in “fighting the good fight” for the difficult virtue of Holy Purity, we ask that you enter the Church dressed modestly and in a manner fitting for the House of God.
Shoulders and upper arms should be covered (men and women)
Necklines should be modest (The last guidelines published by the Vatican stated that necklines should not be cut lower than a 2-finger width below the pit of the throat)
Skirts should fall below the knee when seated
Clothes should not be “tight-fitting” or transparent
Shorts or tank tops are never appropriate in Church
It lifts the spirit to hear truth spoken with love, gentleness and directness. I’m reading these lessons to my children and husband - your messages are an answer to my prayer for the shepherds of the Church to preach God’s truth loudly and with one voice. Thank you.
Thank you, Bishop. You are a beacon of light and truth for a soul navigating the waters of confusion in our Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. God bless you and Mother Mary keep you safe. Stay the course and continue your words of wisdom as they come from the most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Holy Ghost.
I enter the Catholic faith commencing with my baptism this Easter . I know the confusion current ‘modernism’ causes in one who is drawn to the faith but not yet resilient to false messages, or confident in identifying such. I lean on the CCC to keep me on track, but reading your words is like a cool breeze on a hot day, both refreshing and comforting, bringing reassurance and peace. God bless you.
Thank you Your Excellency for this well grounded examination of conscience series. It is so needed during this rollercoaster ride of a Lent. Great to see you leading souls to Jesus Christ at Mar-a-Lago at this late hour.
When I type that place name I cannot help thinking that Our Lady of the Lake is present there---both in the name, and now with the blessed statue of Our Lady of Fatima.
